09.01.2026 - Celebrate the New Year with lunch gathering & Mizuhiki Workshop
Venue: Daiwa Anglo- Japanese Foundation, London, NW1 4QP

Celebrate the start of the year with a warm and festive lunch, and a hands-on Mizuhiki workshop—a traditional Japanese art of decorative knotting that symbolises good fortune and connection. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn a beautiful craft, enjoy great company, and embrace the spirit of the new year.

28.03.2026 - Cherry Blossom Hanami at Battersea Park

(cancelled due to weather condition)

A Day-out to Battersea Park to see the cherry blossoms in bloom and welcome to join lunch at The Ivy Kings Road afterwards. This will be a relaxed and social walk, offering a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the spring scenery and spend time with fellow members. All members are very welcome.

06.05.2026 - Ikebana Chabana workshop

Venue: Private residence in Surrey

Begins with an introduction to Chabana—a refined and quietly expressive style of Ikebana rooted in the Japanese tea ceremony. Demonstrated by Sachiko Pearce sensei to explore the philosophy behind Chabana and learn how to create our own seasonal arrangement. Following the workshop, participants are invited to enjoy a relaxed sushi lunch. It’s a chance to connect, reflect, and continue the experience over beautifully prepared food, in the spirit of Japanese hospitality.

14 - 17.05.2026 - Ikebana International London Chapter Annual Exhibition

Theme: Friendship Through Flowers

Venue: Japan House, London

Ikebana International turns 70! Celebrate this special milestone with us at our Annual Ikebana Exhibition, held during the week of 14 May, and under the theme of I.I.'s motto, “Friendship Through Flowers.”

29.06.2026 - AGM & Sumie Takahashi Sensei Workshop

Venue: Daiwa Anglo- Japanese Foundation, London, NW1 4QP

The Nippon Kado Koyru School workshop will be led by Sumie Takahashi sensei. In her previous workshop, Sumie Sensei introduced hana kubari (a Y-shaped flower holder) and demonstrated its use. In this session, she will present hana kanzashi—a traditional “flower hairpin” used to secure arrangements—followed by a hands-on practical workshop.

The event opens with special guest Hilary Cheng, our member from the Ohara School, sharing her ikebana works and creative insights. You’re invited to present your arrangements and share design techniques. Whether you're experienced or simply passionate, we welcome your take on the theme: Summer.
