What is your favourite memory of summertime? Maybe it’s the warmth of sunlight on your skin, the scent of blooming flowers, or the sound of cicadas or long afternoon seemed to last forever. Summer may be fading, but its memories still bright.
We’re so happy to share Seiko sensei’s beautiful work in our Memory of Summer workshop. It’s a relaxed, creative gathering to celebrate the gentle shift from summer’s warmth to autumn’s calm.
With guidance from Mrs. Seiko Mizuta-Spencer, we explored the graceful world of Ichiyo-style Ikebana, capturing that fleeting moment when late summer’s lightness meets the first golden tones of fall. To hold onto summer’s clarity and freshness, we used transparent glass vessels — letting the reflections of light and water echo the season’s airy mood.
As autumn begins, let’s take a moment to enjoy the beauty of change — and find inspiration in every stem, leaf, and memory of summer.
