Chabana is a style of Ikebana created for the tea room to harmonise with the season, the space, and the spirit of the tea gathering. During the demonstration and hands-on session, Sachiko Pearce sensei shared so much about the philosophy behind Chabana and her approach to Ikebana in such a warm and thoughtful way.
Thank you Sachiko sensei for giving a tour of her garden and seeing where many of the materials are grown and gathered. We could really feel the care and hospitality in every detail, all the way to beautifully prepared sushi lunch. It was such a lovely and memorable way to begin the spring season.
